Turning point

Barry Gray was pleased with how Cliftonville went about their business in last night’s Danske Bank Premiership victory over Warrenpoint Town.

Strikes from Jay Donnelly and Conor McDonald had the Reds in control early on and, though Martin Murray pulled one back for the hosts, Joe Gormley would complete the scoring before half-time to ensure three welcome points.

“I think we can be happy with our work,” says Gray, who handed a debut to defender Shane Grimes and also welcomed Ruairi Harkin back for his first start in 15 months.

“In the first-half, we were really good although we were disappointed to concede the goal in the fashion that we did, but it was important we got the three points. We want to find consistency in our game and that means winning on nights like that.

“We didn’t get everything our own way, I think we can be relatively happy with what we did.”
