Warrenpoint Town 1-5 Cliftonville

Liam Bagnall rattled in the pick of the goals in Cliftonville’s five-star display against Warrenpoint Town this afternoon.

Despite dominating the first-half, the Reds had just an early Ruaidhri Donnelly strike to show for their efforts at the break, but set about rectifying that with a clinical beginning to the second period, with Conor McMenamin’s bullet header making it 2-0 before fellow former Point favourite Bagnall found the top corner from 30 yards.

A delightful solo run and finish from Joe Gormley further extended Cliftonville’s advantage, with Donnelly clipping home his second of the day ahead of the hosts pulling one back from the penalty spot through Alan O’Sullivan.

Cliftonville: Brush, McDermott, Ives, Breen, Harney, R. Curran, R Donnelly, Bagnall, Gormley, Doherty, McMenamin. Subs: Dunne, C Curran, Foster (McDermott, 72 mins), Wilson (Gormley, 71 mins), Maguire (McMenamin, 62 mins), A Donnelly, Gorman.
