Cliftonville Ladies roared to a superb North Belfast Derby victory over Crusaders Strikers in this evening’s Danske Bank Women’s Premiership tie.

Birthday girl Rachel McConnell (pictured) opened the scoring midway through the first-half at Seaview, where an audacious Marissa Callaghan effort almost doubled the Reds’ lead.

Martin Douglas’ side did extend their advantage before half-time when Niamh Connolly struck and it was 3-0 when Callaghan netted with a sweet effort from the edge of the box just past the hour.

The scoring was completed by Carla Devine, who made no mistake almost immediately after replacing Connolly as the Reds made a convincing return to winning ways after suffering a couple of setbacks in recent weeks.

Cliftonville return to action next Monday night when they host Sion Swifts Ladies in the Semi Finals of the Premiership League Cup.
