Roise-tinted specs
Roise Thompson scored her first international goal as Northern Ireland Under 15 Schoolgirls ‘A’ rounded off their Bob Docherty Cup commitments with a 2-0 victory over Wales in yesterday’s Play-Off encounter at Jordanstown.
Cliftonville star Roise – part of the NI side overcome by England on Saturday and Scotland on Sunday – helped ensure her team would sign off on a winning note when she got on the end of Reds team-mate Abbie McHenry’s assist to find the net.
Fellow Solitude talents Shona Davis, Fi Morgan and Rosie Zubier were also involved, while Northern Ireland ‘B’ – who suffered Play-Off disappointment against Scotland – boasted Cliftonville pair Rachael Norney and Erin Montgomery in their ranks.
Congratulations are extended to all seven Reds players who played their part in the three-day tournament, which was won by the Republic of Ireland, with special commendation for Roise following her milestone strike.
