Crowd pleasers

Cliftonville return to Solitude when Danske Bank Premiership leaders Coleraine visit this weekend – and boss Barry Gray is calling on the Red Army to raise the roof.

The Manager has hailed our supporters’ influence throughout the season and has been impressed with their contribution to vital home successes, not least the sensational late comeback that saw the Reds overcome a 2-0 deficit against Linfield last month.

The Bannsiders arrive protecting an unbeaten Premiership streak that stretches back to the end of the 2016/17 campaign but Gray – whose charges have won each of their last six fixtures in all competitions – believes that backing from the sidelines can help inspire Cliftonville once again.

“The crowd have a massive part to play,” he says.

“We’ve been very fortunate that the crowd have played their part in all the games so far and, against Coleraine, there’s no doubt that both teams are on form – and it’s great to be playing in such a big game.

“I’ve repeatedly told the players that they need to make sure they give the fans something to back and they’ve seen for themselves how our supporters respond to that, so it’s a two-way thing. We’ll be going out to get the win and our supporters are going to play a massive part in helping us get it.”

Ahead of the game, the Social Club – which is screening the Scottish League Cup Semi Final clash between Celtic and Hibernian (12.15pm) – will be running its popular matchday offer, where fans are invited to come along to Solitude a little earlier than usual and avail of our £2.50 pints (between 12pm-2pm), engage in some pre-match chat with your fellow fans and soak up the big game day atmosphere, while youngsters will once again be kept entertained in the build-up to kick-off.

Post-match, why not return to the Social Club to review the action, all the while keeping up to date with live Premier League football on our screens?

And don’t forget that, whether you’re attending the games or following online from around the globe, our new Social Media platform Reds By The Minute is seeking YOUR matchday engagement, so be sure to share your opinions, views and pictures with us as Cliftonville seek to build on the successes of recent weeks.
