Jim Magilton says Cliftonville can get last week’s defeat out of their system by giving a truer demonstration of themselves in tomorrow’s home clash with Dungannon Swifts.

The Reds slipped to their first defeat of the Boyle Sports Premiership season with an unambitious display against Linfield and the Manager is eager to see a return of the form that yielded victories over Crusaders and Bangor in the fortnight prior.

“Dungannon is always a difficult game,” he said.

“They are a good side. I’ve huge respect for Rod (McAree) and his players.

“We need to get back to doing what we are good at. We have a structure, a set way of playing, but it comes down to intensity, desire and putting the ball in the net.

“Winning games helps build confidence. It’s important to get the Linfield result out of the system.

“The goal we conceded was poor marking, it was sloppy. But I thought we defended quite well up to that point.

“We showed more of a sense of urgency at the end of the game, but it was too late.”
