A midfielder who made his Premiership debut with Crusaders at the age of 15, Joel subsequently embarked upon a two-year spell with Nottingham Forest.
After departing the City Ground, the Northern Ireland Under-19 international joined Colchester United and had a loan stint at Aveley ahead of a short stay at Finn Harps and made 34 appearances for Ballymena United during the 2025/26 season before signing for Cliftonville in the summer of 2026.
