Masterful addition

Cliftonville Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Dean McMaster.

The 23-year-old Scottish midfielder, who has spent the last four seasons with Airdrieonians, is this morning unveiled as Jim Magilton’s sixth new recruit of the summer.

After emerging through the youth ranks at St Mirren, McMaster undertook loan spells at both Cumbernauld and Airdrie, whom he helped earn promotion to the Scottish Championship in 2023.

His contribution to that success resulted in the Diamonds securing him on a contract and he was subsequently part of the side that went on to win the SPFL Trust Trophy the following year – when his now Reds team-mate Liam McStravick was among the scorers in the Final.

He made a total of 134 appearances for Airdrie, captaining the team on numerous occasions, and has joined Ireland’s Oldest Football Club following the expiry of his deal at Excelsior Stadium.

Welcome to Solitude, Dean.
