Merited moment for George
George Walsh is the latest recipient of the Freddie Jardine Special Merit Award.
Presented at the Cliftonville FC Awards on Friday night, the accolade – which is named in honour of our much-missed former player, coach, physiotherapist and President – was introduced back in 2018 to highlight individual contributions to Ireland’s Oldest Football Club and acknowledges the unrelenting dedication of volunteers to whose services we are indebted.

A diligent and dedicated Clubman who has served Cliftonville FC with distinction across many years, George will soon bring the curtain down on a lengthy and distinguished spell in the Boardroom.

Recently honoured with the NI Football League’s Club Employee Excellence accolade, George’s efforts were also acknowledged with a pre-match presentation on the pitch ahead of Cliftonville’s recent meeting with Dungannon Swifts – his final fixture before retirement.
Thank you for everything, George. Enjoy your well-earned break.
