Vicktory lap
Linfield 1-2 Cliftonville
Liam McStravick netted twice as Cliftonville brought the curtain down on their Sports Direct Premiership season with a 2-1 win over Linfield.
After taking the lead when McStravick supplied a confident finish at the end of a clever attacking sequence at the Clearer Twist Stadium, the Reds were pegged back shortly afterwards courtesy of a Chris McKee penalty.
McStravick restored Cliftonville’s advantage ahead of half-time, however, when he found the bottom corner from distance, while the visitors’ lead was almost extended further when Adam Carroll headed against the crossbar early in the second period.
The Reds should have had a penalty when Luke Conlan was felled inside the box but, as attentions turn to next month’s European Play-Offs, two goals proved enough to claim full points.
