Faith facts
Jim Magilton wants Cliftonville to have faith in themselves as they approach tomorrow’s Sports Direct Premiership encounter with Linfield.
The Reds enter the game on the back of a heavy midweek loss to Glentoran that left the Manager “disheartened” by his players failing to adequately express themselves.
Well aware of the size of the task that awaits tomorrow, Magilton is determined to help his squad find the courage to meet the challenge head on.
“We train at Solitude and we play at Solitude and when we train, we pass the ball so well, we move so well and the players have real confidence in what they’re doing,” he said.
“We didn’t see that on Tuesday night and that was a worry because we should have gone into that game full of confidence after the win against Crusaders last Saturday.
“After an experience like Tuesday’s, it’s a case of taking a day or two away from it and then, when you get back into training, building the players up to go again because we obviously know we have a very tough game to come against Linfield.
“We need to show bravery on the ball, belief in our ability and play to the levels and in the style we know we’re capable of.
“As a Manager, it upsets me when I see my team not playing to the standards I know they can reach. We often talk about courage and being positive and that’s something we’ve got to work on to make sure we do right.”
