Betty Kirkwood’s funeral service

The funeral service of Betty Kirkwood will take place at St Mark’s Parish Church in Newtownards tomorrow morning.

Wife of the late Dessie – who held a number of positions at Cliftonville in an association spanning more than 70 years – Betty was a familiar and welcome face at Solitude, where she oversaw Boardroom hospitality and played a valuable role in strengthening the synonymous nature of the Kirkwood name at the Reds.

She passed away at Bramblewood Care Home last Sunday and her life will be celebrated tomorrow in a service scheduled to begin at 11am followed by committal at Colebrooke Parish Church, County Fermanagh.

All at Cliftonville FC extend our sincere condolences to Dessie and Betty’s daughter Clare and the wider Kirkwood family, who have requested that all attendees wear bright colours to tomorrow’s funeral.
