A look through the window

Following a relatively quiet Transfer Deadline Day at Solitude, cliftonvillefc.net takes the opportunity to recap all the comings and goings throughout the January Window.

The month began with the arrival of experienced goalkeeper Gerard Doherty, with the Derry City legend (pictured) not having to wait long for his first taste of action when he appeared as a substitute in the Danske Bank Premiership fixture with Carrick Rangers 11 days later.

Another former Brandywell favourite to make their Reds debut that night was striker David Parkhouse, who was signed on loan from Ballymena United and opened his scoring account in last Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory over Glenavon at Mourneview Park.

Midfielder Donal Rocks was yesterday recalled from his loan spell with Newry City, while departing Solitude – albeit temporarily – was defender Stephen McGuinness who, just days after joining Annagh United’s promotion charge in the Lough 41 Championship, was accompanied by fellow Cliftonville loanee Gerard Storey.

Indeed, Annagh’s encounter with Ballyclare Comrades last week saw no fewer than four Reds players in action, with Declan Breen and Calvin McCurry – who moved to Dixon Park on loan in the summer – featuring for the hosts.

Also in the Championship, Cliftonville striker Michael Morgan is a regular fixture for Newington, and Seanna Foster continues to excel for Premier Intermediate League title-chasers and Steel & Sons Cup winners Bangor.

The Club can, meanwhile, confirm that January marked the expiry of Fynn Talley’s loan spell at Solitude and all at the Reds extend thanks and best wishes to the Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper, who made seven appearances across five different competitions in the first half of the season.
