Director of Football appointed

Cliftonville Football Club are pleased to confirm an addition to our Management Committee.

Michael Hegney has been co-opted as Director of Football in a welcome move that further strengthens the Board during a vital period of transition at Solitude.

Commenting on his new position, Michael said: “I’m delighted to be on board in this role to support Kevin Crossan, who has done tremendous things in his short tenure.

“You just need to look at and feel the place. He is a ball of energy and our job is to support where we can.”

Chairman Kevin Crossan added: “Michael’s energy, drive and passion for Cliftonville make him another great addition to the Management Committee.

“He worked extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure the Toronto Investment Group’s proposal was accepted by an overwhelming majority of our membership and I’m very pleased to welcome him to his new role.

“Having said that, none of our Directors are pigeon-holed and have to be flexible in what they are expected to do for the Club. I know Michael, like everyone else on the Management Committee, can be relied upon to do just that.”
