Penalty pain
Glentoran 1-1 Cliftonville [5-4 on penalties]
Cliftonville exited the BetMcLean Cup following a penalty shootout defeat to Glentoran at The Oval this evening.
Ahead when Eric McWoods broke the deadlock in the second period of extra-time, the Reds were quickly pegged back when Jordan Jenkins scrambled home an equaliser for the hosts.
In the shootout, Glentoran quartet Pat Hoban, Jenkins, Cameron Palmer and Ryan Cooney had their strikes cancelled out by successful conversions from Rory Hale, Jonny Addis, Jack Keaney and Odhran Casey but, after Nathan Ferris stroked the Glens 5-4 in front, Shea Gordon saw his kick saved by Billy Crellin to settle the issue.
