A Bally good morning
Ballyclare Comrades 0-3 Cliftonville
Cliftonville brought their pre-season preparations to an end with a 3-0 victory over Ballyclare Comrades in this morning’s friendly at Dixon Park.
Ryan Curran broke the deadlock shortly before half-time when he converted Micheal Glynn’s cross after good work by Trialist 3 but the hosts should have levelled after the break when Shaun Leppard’s foul on former Reds Academy talent Jack Berry led to referee Shane Andrews awarding a penalty, only for Comrades skipper Brandon Doyle to send him chipped spot kick over the bar.
Within a minute, the ball was in the net at the other end when Leppard rose highest to power home a header from Shea Gordon’s corner.
The best of the goals was saved for last, though, with Joe Gormley picking his spot in the top corner after a smart turn and strike from distance.
