Reds on the rock
Supporters heading to Gibraltar for Cliftonville’s UEFA Conference League first qualifying round first leg fixture with St Joseph’s are provided with the following travel advice.
Aware that many fans have booked accommodation in Spain, the Club are mindful that border checks can cause delays and encourages sufficient time to be factored in en route to Europa Point Stadium, where Tuesday’s match will kick off at 6pm local time. There is no charge to enter or leave Gibraltar. Do not hand over money to anybody claiming there is a charge.
Those travelling back to Spain after the game are reminded that, as Gibraltar is not part of the EU Customs Union, all duty-free goods must be declared to Spanish customs officers.
Please also be aware that, while Pounds Sterling is the currency in Gibraltar and that some business may be happy to deal in Euro, notes issued from back home are not usually accepted. Likewise, Gibraltarian notes and coins are unlikely to be usable upon your return home.
With Cliftonville’s ticket allocation for the match fully subscribed, we look forward to seeing and hearing the Red Army provide their traditional fervent backing on our latest European travels and hope that everyone making the journey enjoys a safe and pleasant trip.
