Cliftonville 1-0 Loughgall

Ryan Curran claimed the only goal of the game in Cliftonville’s pre-season workout against Loughgall this evening.

The striker glanced home a header from Jonny Addis’ cross with 14 minutes on the clock at Solitude, where the Reds made use of 21 players – including new signing PJ Morrison – over the course of the night.

Addis had earlier tried his luck with an attempt from range, while both Curran and Rory Hale found themselves crowded out in a busy goalmouth when Cliftonville went in search of a second.

The closest Loughgall came to levelling was Kirk McLaughlin’s attempt from a narrow angle which drew a smart stop from Lewis Ridd.

After the interval, Curran forced the Villagers’ Berrat Turker to turn an effort over the top before the keeper’s one-handed save prevented Joe Gormley from finding the net from distance.
