Glentoran 0-2 Cliftonville

Cliftonville delivered a dramatic finale to defeat Glentoran in this evening’s European Play-Off semi-final at The Oval.

Having been on top for the majority of the game, the Reds eventually made the breakthrough five minutes from time when Rory Hale’s quick free-kick caught the home defence napping and Jack Keaney was only too happy to oblige with a confident finish into the bottom corner.

Glentoran were then reduced to 10 men when Cameron Palmer picked up his second yellow card of the night and, with the hosts desperately throwing everything forward in search of an equaliser, Cliftonville put the seal on things when Eric McWoods raced clear to bag the goal his performance deserved.
