Wilson moves on

Cliftonville Football Club extends sincere thanks to Ben Wilson for his services following the striker’s move to Airdrieonians.

The 22-year-old former Brighton & Hove Albion frontman signed up at Solitude last summer and scored 20 goals in 42 appearances for the Reds during the 2023/24 campaign.

Though rightly lauded for a goalscoring return that saw him become just the second ever Cliftonville player to reach the 20 strike milestone in their debut season, Ben’s final touch of a ball in a Reds shirt saw him produce arguably the most famous assist in the Club’s history as he teed up the iconic third goal goal in last month’s Clearer Water Irish Cup Final – one of two assists he delivered on the day.

His place in Cliftonville folklore guaranteed courtesy of his contribution to that much-celebrated success, Ben departs Solitude with the very best wishes of all associated with the Club.
