Euro draw update
Aware of our supporters’ eagerness to deliver their typically fervent backing on our European travels, Club officials are working hard to provide some degree of clarity surrounding our UEFA Conference League second qualifying round tie.
Paired with the winners of the first qualifying round clash between B36 Torshavn (Faroe Islands) and FK Auda (Latvia), the identity of Cliftonville’s opponents will not be officially confirmed until Thursday, July 18.
It is the Club’s intention to provide our fans with as much detail as possible pertaining to both potential ties as early as we can, however we trust you will appreciate that this is not a straightforward process.
The Club have been in discussions with representatives from our possible opponents on a number of matters, including the potential of fixture reversals and the dates on which the games are played. Once agreed, official approval will be ratified by UEFA next Monday, June 24. The Club will communicate details relating to all potential outcomes as soon as they have been confirmed.
We are hugely proud and appreciative of the support the Red Army traditionally provide on European away days and we will endeavour to supply you with as much notice as we can so that as many of you as possible can make contingency arrangements to be there to get behind Jim Magilton and the players in either the Faroe Islands or Latvia.
