Ashford departs

Cliftonville FC offers thanks to Sam Ashford following his departure from the Club.

The 28-year-old striker joined from Ayr United in the opening weeks of the 2023/24 season and scored eight goals in 31 appearances for the Reds, with none of his finishes more valuable than the header which sparked the team’s unforgettable comeback in the Clearer Water Irish Cup Final victory over Linfield.

A goal which goes down in Club folklore, Sam departs with the sincere thanks of everyone associated with Cliftonville FC for his contribution over the course of the campaign and with our very best wishes for his future career.
