Straight on the Case

Cliftonville Football Club can confirm that Odhrán Casey sustained a broken leg during Saturday’s Clearer Water Irish Cup Final.

The 22-year-old defender was injured following an innocuous coming together with Linfield striker Chris McKee in the closing seconds of the first-half and, with his distress obvious, Blues boss David Healy was quick to alert the medical representatives of both Clubs, to whom we extend our gratitude.

We also thank the ambulance crew from Proparamedic, the medical team and staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital and Cliftonville’s Chief Operating Officer David Begley, who not only accompanied Odhrán to hospital but also ensured he didn’t miss a minute of the game while being transported in the ambulance, before later returning with the trophy and his medal.

Odhrán has now commenced a rehabilitation programme and all at the Club wishes him well during his recovery process.
