Lunch pad

Cliftonville Football Club places on record our thanks to everyone who contributed to our Christmas Matchday Lunch being such a success.

Staged at Cliftonville Bowling Club prior to the Reds’ Sports Direct Premiership clash with Ballymena United yesterday, the occasion saw supporters count down to kick-off with a two-course festive meal alongside players from past and present as well as our special guests, Ryan Catney and Martin Donnelly.

With 19 medals amassed between them over a combined 684 appearances for the Club, the double title-winning duo regaled ticket holders with tales from their playing days, recollections of life under Tommy Breslin’s stewardship and reflections on the decade since those memorable triumphs.

Our congratulations, meanwhile, go to Michael Hegney for his typically rigorous organisation and stewardship of the event, with our appreciation likewise extended to staff at the Bowling Club for their professional assistance throughout.
