Hale urges United approach

Ronan Hale insists memories of a heavy defeat by Ballymena United last season will sharpen Cliftonville’s focus ahead of tomorrow’s Sports Direct Premiership clash at Solitude.

Though the Sky Blues have been struggling for form of late, Hale has warned that the visitors will punish any complacency from the Reds and is determined to ensure there are no such issues when the action gets under way.

“Ballymena is never an easy team to play against, they always make it hard for you,” he declares.

“We saw that last year, we went and played them when we were on a great run of form and we ended up losing 4-1 at The Showgrounds.

“Even if they aren’t on form, they can come and hurt you and we won’t be taking them lightly. We will treat them with the respect of any other team.”
