Kear to the ground

Shea Kearney anticipates a titanic tussle with Glentoran in tomorrow’s Sports Direct Premiership showdown at Solitude – where he believes Cliftonville’s fans can make a telling difference.

Both sides enter the game buoyed by positive results last weekend; the Reds roaring from behind to overcome Dungannon Swifts less than 24 hours after the Glens had put four unanswered goals past Linfield, and Kearney is looking forward to the latest big game of his fledgling career.

“Glentoran are flying after their win over Linfield,” says the 19-year-old.

“Hopefully we can go out and play our performance and win again.

“The fans are our 12th man, they give us everything – especially at home. There is no one like our fans at Solitude and I think our home record backs that up.”

You can read the full Kearney interview in tomorrow’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Carrying Jim Magilton’s pre-match views from the Manager’s Office, The Red Eye’s 10th issue of the campaign looks back on the Glens’ season so far as well as providing your latest player poster – plus plenty more besides.
