Ronan’s five-star display
Lisburn Distillery 0-9 Cliftonville
Ronan Hale scored five second-half goals to help Cliftonville overpower Lisburn Distillery in this evening’s friendly at New Grosvenor Stadium.
Ahead inside two minutes when Chris Gallagher thundered home an unstoppable strike from distance, the Reds doubled their advantage almost instantly courtesy of Ban Wilson’s close-range conversion.
A heavily deflected Ronan Doherty effort made it 3-0 before the quarter-hour mark, with a further 50 minutes passing until Cliftonville extended their lead; Hale netting twice inside 60 seconds before brother Rory claimed number six.
Ronan then completed his hat-trick with a left-footed blast and, after scoring from the penalty spot following a foul on Gerard Storey, wrapped things up when he rounded the keeper in the closing seconds of the contest.
