Daithi lays down the law

Cliftonville Football Club were delighted to see long-time supporter Dáithí Mac Gabhann at Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership fixture with Linfield.

No stranger to Solitude over the years, the youngster received a rapturous reception from both sets of supporters amid the ongoing countdown to the implementation of Daithi’s Law.

Set to come into effect on June 1, Daithi’s Law will see organ donation in Northern Ireland change to an opt-out system, meaning that, in the event that organ donation is a possibility after you die, it will be considered that you agree to being a donor unless you have specifically chosen to opt out or are in an excluded group.

Six-year-old Dáithí was born with a very rare and life-threatening congenital heart defect and his parents Máirtín and Seph have long campaigned to raise awareness around organ donation.

Cliftonville FC have been proud advocates of the Donate4Dáithí movement and are pleased to take this further opportunity to encourage our fans to show their support by highlighting the family’s appeal via their dedicated Facebook and Twitter platforms.
