We can’t lose track: O’Hara

Declan O’Hara says it’s only right that Cliftonville digest the disappointment of last night’s defeat to Larne but believes it’s vital to quickly shift attentions to the next challenge on the agenda.

A goal in either half was enough for the Invermen to take all three points at a rain-soaked Solitude, where the Reds failed to impose any serious authority on proceedings on what was ultimately a night to forget from a home perspective.

Forgetting about it is easier said than done, though, and Assistant Manager O’Hara expects today to be a difficult one for everyone involved in the defeat.

“We don’t like losing games of football and we didn’t do enough,” he said.

“We have to take a look at ourselves and it’s important we bounce back.

“No matter who we’re playing here at Solitude, we don’t want to lose games. The players are disappointed, we’re all disappointed but we have to take it on the chin. Credit to Larne, they came here and beat us and they will win the League, but we have to look after ourselves, we have to be prepared for three massive League games that we’ve got left.

“You talk about not getting too low when you get beat, but when you lose a game of football, you’re really disappointed and the next 24 hours are important for the players and staff to get over that and turn our attentions to training on Thursday, when we’ll be preparing to face Glentoran.”
