Some split ends

This weekend’s results confirmed the make-up of the Danske Bank Premiership’s post-split sections.

The division will split in two halves following the 33rd round of fixtures, with the top six sides facing one another on a weekly basis to determine the destination of the Gibson Cup and European qualification, while teams in the bottom group will fight against relegation as well as competing for the final Euro Play-Off spot.

As anyone who has been following our dedicated guide will know, Cliftonville secured their place in the top half earlier this month and have since been joined by Larne, Linfield, Crusaders and Coleraine – all of whom the Reds will face at Solitude – as well as Glentoran, who represent our sole post-split away trip.

Fans are advised that the fixtures template remains subject to ratification and indeed amendment at the discretion of the NI Football League who, as has been the case in recent seasons, may resolve to release the schedule earlier than advertised to assist Clubs’ preparations.
