Nathan Gartside says it’s important for Cliftonville to have a big-game mentality – because that’s the exact status of every fixture they’ll face for the remainder of the season.

The Reds welcome Portadown to Solitude this evening for a Danske Bank Premiership battle that Gartside stresses is every bit as important as any other match on the horizon.

“Every game is a big game between now and the end of the season – all the games are going to be like that,” says the 24-year-old.

“We’re sitting joint top in the chasing pack and we’re considered a big game to other teams. We have to be taking every game as a final, as such. Between now and the end of the season, you’re in it to play the big games and as long as you’re winning and keeping yourself in there, you never know what could happen.”
