Catching the son
Cliftonville Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Jamie Robinson, subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old central defender, who emerged through the ranks at Maiden City Academy, was most recently on the books of English National League side Chesterfield and spent last season on loan at Sheffield.
Having swapped the world’s first Football Club for Ireland’s Oldest, Robinson – who featured in the Reds’ recent friendly fixtures with Derry City and Shamrock Rovers – said: “It’s great to get the deal done and have my future sorted out very quickly after coming back home.
“I know I’m walking into a changing room full of quality players and I’m looking forward to being a part of that and helping the team challenge. I know a few of the players from Maiden City Academy and they’re a good bunch, which is always a help when you move to a new Club.
“Cliftonville had a great season last year so there will probably be higher expectations going into the coming season but that’s something I’m pleased to be a part of.”
