We’re loving the challenge: Paddy

Paddy McLaughlin says Cliftonville’s players are comfortable in their roles as big-game performers.

An unforgiving fixture list will require another all-action display when the Reds face Glentoran in tonight’s Danske Bank Premiership encounter at The Oval but, rather than be weighed down by the demands of a busy schedule, the Manager insists his squad are enjoying the ride.

“I love it, the players love it, the fans love it, the staff, it’s a brilliant and exciting time for everybody associated with the Club,” says McLaughlin.

“That’s why we’re in this business. The players are enjoying their football, the fans are enjoying watching them play and long may it continue.

“The boys have been superb in all competitions. They’ve went toe to toe with the Glentorans, Linfields, Larnes and Coleraines and have been fantastic.

“The Glens have been excellent this season with some serious quality additions to their squad, so they’re always going to be a team that’s going to be up there challenging for a number of years from here on in. It’ll be tough going to The Oval, they’re really strong at home but, with the form the boys are in at the minute, they’re looking forward to it.

“It’s another tough game and another big occasion, but it’s one to look forward to.”
