Ready for Warr

Rory Hale insists that Cliftonville reacted to their weekend postponement by immediately shifting focus to the challenge that Warrenpoint Town will present this evening.

The Reds’ Friday night trip to Dungannon Swifts may have fallen foul of the weather, but Hale says that he and his team-mates wasted no time in preparing for the next task on their Danske Bank Premiership schedule.

“We’re going to the treat the game like we would have treated Friday night’s game and any other game,” he explains.

“We’ll not be taking Warrenpoint too lightly at all, you see that they’ve drawn with Linfield this season and last week they conceded last minute against Coleraine, so it will be a tough game for us. No doubt we’ll be looking to get the three points, the same as Warrenpoint.”

You can read the full Hale interview in tonight’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Featuring pre-match views from the Manager’s Office, The Red Eye’s 21st issue of the campaign looks at Warrenpoint’s immediate targets and steps 71, 36 and 25 years back down memory lane – plus plenty more besides.

Our Matchday Magazine attained a top-three position in the NI Football Programme Collectors’ last eight annual awards polls – assuming the runners-up position on six of those occasions – so, if you’re not a regular reader, why not take a look at what you’ve been missing out on?
