Cliftonville’s Liam McStravick was among the goals as Northern Ireland Under-18 Schoolboys retained the Lynne Nicholson Trophy this week.

After emerging from the bench to grab the equalising goal in Monday’s 2-2 draw with Jersey Under-18s at Springfield Stadium, McStravick was rewarded with a start against the hosts’ Under-21 side on Wednesday and opened the scoring with just 10 minutes gone before playing key roles in the third and fourth goals of an emphatic 5-1 success.

Reds team-mate Aidan Kelly, meanwhile, captained the team in the first match before featuring as a substitute in the second game, where victory saw Northern Ireland keep hold of the silverware they had lifted in 2019.
