Cricky’s game for battle

Cricky Gallagher believes Cliftonville’s run of big occasions is down to the hard work he and his team-mates have put in throughout the season so far.

Ahead of tonight’s Danske Bank Premiership encounter with his former employers Glentoran at Solitude, Gallagher says the Reds’ performances to date mean that more and more matches will assume additional significance as the campaign progresses.

“It’s going to be a big game and the boys in the dressing room are making the games big from how well we’re doing,” explains the 22-year-old.

“I’m looking forward to it as well, they’re a good side and they’re coming to try and play – but we’re a good side too. We’ve nothing to fear.”

You can read the full Gallagher interview in tonight’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £3.

Featuring pre-match views from the Manager’s Office, The Red Eye’s 18th issue of the campaign examines the Glens’ recent penchant for turning the history books upside down and steps 142, 33 and 18 years back down memory lane – plus plenty more besides.

Our Matchday Magazine attained a top-three position in the NI Football Programme Collectors’ last eight annual awards polls – assuming the runners-up position on six of those occasions – so, if you’re not a regular reader, why not take a look at what you’ve been missing out on?
