Red October

Yesterday’s victory over Glenavon brought the curtain down on a busy October for Cliftonville – meaning the time has now come for the season’s second Player of the Month poll.

After Joe Gormley’s thumping header earned a 1-1 draw with Linfield at Windsor Park, the Reds saw off Larne courtesy of a Rory Hale double back on home soil.

A nervy County Antrim Shield quarter-final date with Bangor looked to be slipping away until Daniel Kearns and Aaron Donnelly dragged Cliftonville back level ahead of Gormley’s double sealing progress and, though a first defeat of the season was inflicted by Ballymena United, Paddy McLaughlin’s side returned to winning ways as finishes from Jonny Addis, Cricky Gallagher, Ryan Curran and Gormley saw Ards overcome on League Cup duty ahead of Curran’s brace accounting for Glenavon this weekend.

To cast your Sean Graham Player of the Month vote, simply choose an option before our poll closes at kick-off in Tuesday’s Premiership clash with Portadown, with the result set to be unveiled later in the week.
