Rod alert
Brendan Rodgers was an interested spectator as the latest round of fonaCAB Development League fixtures were played out at Solitude this morning.
Every Saturday, our home ground plays host to a raft of teams across various age-groups, where boys and girls contest games consisting of three 12-minute periods in a fun and simplified environment – and Leicester City boss Rodgers certainly enjoyed casting his eye over today’s matches, where his nephew was in action for Ardoyne.
As the season progresses, hundreds of players representing scores of teams from near and far will play their part in our expansive initiative, which has in recent times seen line-ups from Glentoran, Bloomfield, St Malachy’s, Shankill Juniors, Linfield, Belfast Celtic, Willowbank, Sandy Row, Larne, Greenisland and, of course, Cliftonville among others take to the pitch at Solitude.
