Reds fall at Final hurdle

Larne 3-1 Cliftonville

Cliftonville fell to defeat in this evening’s European Play-Off Final as Larne finished strongly to claim victory at Inver Park.

Trailing at the interval thanks to a well-taken Davy McDaid finish, the Reds emerged positively after the break and their dominance was rewarded when Daire O’Connor rattled home a wonderful equaliser from distance.

Despite the momentum now being behind them, Cliftonville fell behind again against the run of play when Lee Lynch slid in to convert at the back post before McDaid’s second of the night put the seal on the hosts’ win.
