Already a Dun deal

Voting is now open for October’s cliftonvillefc.net Goal of the Month – and we’re asking you to indulge us by pretending we don’t already know that Joe Gormley’s strike against Dundela will win!

Although the Reds found the net 13 times over the course of five fixtures, the absence of recorded footage combined with a shortage of stand-out finishes means our first poll of the season is something of a foregone conclusion.

We have, however, included Gormley’s effort against Carrick Rangers at the weekend as well as Ryan Curran’s winner in the defeat of Glentoran as a means of at least providing the illusion that Joe’s volley against the Duns (coverage of which was actually captured by a supporter) faces some form of competition.

So check out the video above (or don’t and just go straight ahead and vote for the obvious winner) before making your decision, which must be lodged before tomorrow night’s County Antrim Shield semi-final with the Glens gets under way.

If you’d prefer to participate in a vote which isn’t perhaps quite so futile, don’t forget that polling in the Sean Graham Player of the Month also closes tomorrow as we bid to determine Cliftonville’s top performer in the opening weeks of the 2020/21 term.

October Goal of the Month

A: Joe Gormley v Dundela
B: Ryan Curran v Glentoran
