Cliftonville 3-1 Ards
Cliftonville overcame Ards in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Solitude this evening.
In a fixture that saw the Club conduct a number of experiments during a live streaming trial here on cliftonvillefc.net, the Reds fell behind early on when Garry Breen got a little too much purchase on a backpass to Richard Brush, who was unable to stop the ball finding the net.
The visitors’ lead didn’t last long, however, with Levi Ives producing a confident finish after being teed up by Joe Gormley in the aftermath of Conor McDermott’s surging run into the box.
Cliftonville pulled in front late on when Ryan Curran produced a low strike into the corner and, little more than a minute later, Trialist A found the net to complete the scoring.
