A hundred to won
Today marks 100 days since Cliftonville were last in action – a 2-0 victory over Glentoran at The Oval.
Having taken the lead through a smart Chris Curran finish on 47 minutes, the Reds doubled their advantage when Ryan Curran showed imagination and composure to chase down a lost cause, flick the ball over the head of a home defender and slam past goalkeeper Elliott Morris.
The win was Cliftonville’s 12th on the road this term, with five draws and six defeats recorded from 23 outings away from Solitude, stretching all the way back to the 0-0 stalemate with Barry Town United in the Europa League Preliminary Round on June 27.
To mark a century of days since Paddy McLaughlin’s side were last in action, we’re asking the Red Army what their favourite game of the 2019/20 season has been so far.
Perhaps it was that Euro trip to Leckwith Stadium in Cardiff, maybe the festive derby victory over Crusaders at Seaview tops your list or – and we suspect we may not have to provide much argument here – can you simply not look past the County Antrim Shield Semi Final victory over Ballymena United, when the Reds netted twice in the depths of injury-time to snatch silverware from the jaws of defeat.
Whatever it is, we want to hear about it – so fill up your social media timelines with your chosen match, favourite memories or most cherished pictures and enjoy reminiscing with fellow fans as the wait for Cliftonville’s return to action continues.
