On the level

Goals from Odhran Casey and Calvin McCurry saw Cliftonville Olympic claim a share of the spoils in yesterday’s Under 20 North Belfast Derby at Seaview.

After Mark Donnelly had gone close to breaking the deadlock during a bright start for the Reds, it was left to Casey (pictured) to open the scoring with a well-taken effort from the edge of the box.

The second period started with Lee O’Brien denied by the Crusaders Reserves’ goalkeeper before the hosts levelled on the hour through Matthew Snoddy.

Soon later, however, the Olympic were back in front courtesy of McCurry only for the Crues to hit back for a point when Snoddy won and then converted a penalty with a quarter of an hour remaining.
