Conor Scannell was on target as County Antrim kicked off their Junior programme at the SuperCupNI with a commanding victory over Dundalk Schoolboys League.

The Cliftonville striker – one of 10 Reds players representing Antrim at this week’s tournament – got his name on the scoresheet in the 5-1 success at Broughshane, where Callum Marshall hit a hat-trick in addition to a solitary Johnny Yip strike.

The Junior side, who also include Solitude pair Brodie Spence and Caolan Millen in their squad, return to action when they tackle County Fermanagh tomorrow ahead of Thursday’s encounter with Mexican side Pumas Unam.

Antrim Seniors, meanwhile, began their campaign with a 2-1 win over Deportes Iquique of Chile and have clashes with NC Elite (USA) and Chippenham Town (England) to come over the next couple of days, when they will be able to call upon the services of Cliftonville’s Ruadhán McKenna, Stephen McGuiness, Odhrán Casey, Peter McKiernan, Paul Scullion, Dylan Snodden and Darren Hyland.
