Cliftonville 4-2 Coleraine

Ryan Curran bagged a double as Cliftonville twice hit from behind to get the better of Coleraine this afternoon.

The Reds’ first fixture of the Danske Bank Premiership’s post-split schedule got off to a bad start when Jamie McGonigle’s firm finish put the Bannsiders in front but it wasn’t long before Rory Donnelly levelled matters.

James McLaughlin’s instinctive touch restored the visitors’ lead before Curran opened his account with a close-range conversion following good work from Joe Gormley.

Cliftonville took the lead for the first time in the game when, on the stroke of half-time, Jamie Harney powered home a header from Aaron Harkin’s corner kick delivery and, after withstanding some sustained second-half pressure from Coleraine, the hosts made the points safe in injury-time when Stephen O’Donnell’s foul on Thomas Maguire earned a penalty kick which Curran stepped up to complete his brace with.
