Strength to strength

With Sunday sessions now a regular fixture in the Cliftonville Football Development Centre diary, our young players reported to Solitude yesterday for some intensive fitness training as part of their Strength & Conditioning schedule.

Evaluated on Lower-Body Power, Upper-Body Strength, 0-10m Acceleration, 0-30m Max Velocity and Endurance, all involved were assessed using a Movement Compensation Screen that will allow our dedicated coaches to tailor individual programmes to enhance each player’s personal development.

As of this month, stars from the Reds’ Under 14s right up to Cliftonville Strollers will report to Solitude every Sunday for double sessions and, for their ongoing dedication to enhancing our Football Development Centre’s budding talents, the Club are naturally grateful to all the coaches and volunteers who continue to work so hard under the guidance of Marc Smyth for the benefit of Cliftonville’s stars of the future.

The Strollers return to action in Friday night’s Under 18 Academy League clash with Carrick Rangers (8.15pm), while our Under 16s also face their Eastt Antrim counterparts when they continue their own title challenge on Saturday morning.
