Tough spot for Olympic

Cliftonville Olympic suffered penalty shootout heartbreak in this afternoon’s Match Intermediate Cup clash with Ards II at Solitude.

Though Paul McAdorey and Colin Oppong put the Reds 2-0 up in this Second Round tie, the visitors hit back to force Extra-Time, during which they went 3-2 ahead.

The Olympic – who had by this stage been reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Lucas Galashan – rallied to level through Donal Rocks in the final minute only to succumb to a 4-2 defeat from the penalty spot.
