New horizons
Rory Donnelly says Cliftonville are well aware of the importance attached to this evening’s Danske Bank Premiership encounter with Newry City.
The Reds’ last-minute defeat of Glentoran nine days ago mean they approach tonight’s game on the back of three League wins in a row – and maintaining that form will be key to realising the season’s objectives.
“With this team, there is always the chance of going on a good run,” says Donnelly.
“Our consistency hadn’t been good but we’ve started to pick up and we’ve won three on the bounce and hopefully we’ll push on and take things game by game.”
You can read the full Donnelly interview in tonight’s edition of our Matchday Magazine, which will be on sale at Solitude for £2.50.
Alongside boss Barry Gray’s pre-match views, The Red Eye’s 12th issue of the campaign reflects on City’s campaign to date, catches up with the young stars of the fonaCAB Development League and steps 13, 69 and 131 years back down memory lane – and plenty more besides.
Our Matchday Magazine has attained a top-three position in the NI Football Programme Collectors’ annual awards poll for the last seven seasons – assuming the runners-up position on six of those occasions – so, if you’re not a regular reader, why not take a look at what you’ve been missing out on?
