The Reds kicked the new term off with an absorbing 6-3 victory over Ards and, in between disappointing defeats to Coleraine and Crusaders, were unfortunate to take only a point from a dominant display against Ballinamallard United ahead of booking their place in the Third Round of the League Cup.
