A strip down memory lane
We’re stepping back in time for this week’s North Belfast Derby, with Saturday being declared ‘Retro Reds’ day at Solitude.
Cliftonville take on Crusaders in an eagerly-anticipated Danske Bank Premiership showdown and we’re encouraging our supporters to wear their oldest or favourite Reds shirt and to dig out their scarves, flags and banners from yesteryear.
Our Matchday Magazine will present a gallery of near-forgotten kits, while we’ll also have an online quiz for all you history buffs, not to mention some pre-match music to reflect the theme of the day in addition to retro prices in the Social Club between 12-2pm.
So what’s it to be – your 1998 Premier League-winning shirt, 125th anniversary bottle green, the infamous Argentina stripes or the classic yellow reverse?
And we’re not restricting you to just jerseys – it could be a cherished Cliftonville jacket, tracksuit top or sweatshirt – with those of you who fell in love with the Club in the 80s dared to turn the clock back by tying scarves round your wrists!
Red Arnie will be dishing out spot prizes to our most creative fans, so all that remains is for you to decide which of those old favourites will be handed the honour of being rescued from the attic and dusted off ahead of a long overdue Solitude return.
